RAD BALLET AT AODC
Ballet is super important to me to hold at AODC as it is the foundation for all our dance styles. AODC offers the RAD ballet syllabus, coaching the girls to complete their exams to the highest standard possible. Helping them to be well -rounded technical dancers. Along with ballet free work and opportunities to advance to point work. Like all RAD classes we wear the set approved Royal Academy of Dance leotards, as apposed to my AODC attire like the other classes. My two ballet coaches, Madelaine and Livi take my ballet classes here at AODC. I am super lucky to have both Madelaine and Livi take on ballet at such a great standard with many students entered for their exams at an 100% success rate.
Livi has been dancing since the age of 3 and from the age of 7 she attended the Madelaine Kelly School of Dancing where she trained in both RAD and ISTD. Olivia has a competition background along with lots of stage experience.
Highly passionate about dance education, at the age of 19 Olivia began teaching at the Madelaine Kelly School of Dancing and started her teacher training journey at Linda Sweetzer Teacher Training College. She underwent and passed her DDE modern theatre exam and then moved straight on to start the 2-year RAD certificate in ballet teaching. Olivia is now working towards the ISTD DDE tap qualification.
Olivia strongly believes in encouraging students to achieve their maximum potential and has entered many students for exam, with a 100% success rate.
Ballet is currently held on a Thursday evening from 3.30pm.
Each of our ballet classes are 1 hour in length and invoiced on the 1st of every month. Each child will work in the grade that is best suited to them. We also offer a free work class which is on set work and works on the ballet technique in greater detail. Point work is also something that the girls can advance at AODC when technically strong enough.
Madelaine Kelly trained at the Arts Educational School, London where she studied a wide variety of dance genres and completed her initial teacher training exams. After leaving college Madelaine pursued a professional career and spent several years performing in UK, Europe and America.
On moving back south she worked for the Royal Ballet School for 12 years, where her roles included JA Administrator and Teacher Link Co-Ordinator.
Madelaine now travels as both a freelance teacher and RAD examiner.
