"I have trained in the ISTD syllabus in ballet, tap and modern for the majority of my lifetime. As well as the RAD (royal academy of dance syIlabus in ballet). Here at academy I offer the RAD royal academy of dance grades which so far the acdemy has a 100% distinction pass rate. We work with the ISTD tap syallabus and offer a graded syllabus in acrobatics. My training throughout my dancing life includes, Ballet, Tap, Modern, Commercial, Hip hop, Musical theatre, Jazz, Lyrical, Contemporary, Freestyle disco, Acro, Latin and ballroom and cat walking/modelling.
I had the honour of training proffesionally on a 3 year scholarship at the well renowned Wilkes Academy when I was 16 years old. Whist in my third year I had the honour of booking my first professional job at 19 becoming a dancer for Little Mix and dancing for their brand new single at the time Shout out to my ex. I am still to this day so grateful for my training at the Wilkes Academy and was grateful for my first professional job opening the doors leading in to many more.
I am highly trained and tecacher certified in ISTD modern and tap, along with the RAD ballet and PBT ballet (proggressive ballet technique) syllabus".
My ballet coach Mrs Lavelle coaches 10 hours a week of RAD ballet here at Academy one dance company and I am honoured to have such a highly qualified and proffesional faculty member on board. Mrs Lavelle oversees the ballet training here at the academy and is a well respected member of our training programme here at AODC.
Alongside my proffesional career, teaching has always been part of my life from the age of just 10 where I would assist alongside my own teachers. From training and competing in dance from as young as I can remember to training and working as a professional dancer I feel I have so much to offer my students. I believe every child has the potential to be their very best if they have someone behind them who believes in them. I pride myself on having an academy that cannot only help the kids achieve things they never thought possible but to love what they do. I opened the Academy back in 2019 whilst I was home on a break in between dance contracts. Setting up a weekly Saturday class turned in to something bigger than I ever could have imagined and a 6 week block of classes became a huge brand with now close to 7 years of history and counting. I pride myself on raising dancers with very strong knowledge and a great love for what they do. AODC is like one big family which is so special to be able to say I've created. I believe here at AODC I am not only teaching my students lessons to be great dancers, but lessons to take with them in to the big wide world as being respectable, hardworking, kind and ambitious young humans in whatever it is they go on to do in life.
